July 2023 Wrap-Up

Having spent an eternity in January and February, 2023 is now steaming merrily along. Already my friends and I have begun to share pumpkin and Autumn related memes with each other. Our eyes are peeled for the Strictly glitter Ball appearing on BBC titles, and whispers are already afoot of contestants. But I need to calm down. It is still July and we have further summer months to enjoy. I've returned to doing my monthly wrap-ups, it's a nice way to see what I've been reading and enjoyed. So let's get started shall we......

Books Read and Reviewed in July 2023

An Italian Island Summer by Sue Moorcroft

Body of Evidence by Patricia Cornwell

Marple:Twelve New Stories by Various Authors

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

Fairacre Festival by Miss Read

Year to date

According to the Goodreads challenge, I have read 31 out of my 60 book challenge. I can almost see Goodreads twitching to send me emails about picking up the pace. It's all ok. I've got this.

Favourite Book of the Month

There were 2 stand outs for me which was the Harry Potter, because well....Gilderoy Lockhart and An Italian Island Summer, mainly as Sue Moorcroft is a new author find and writes Christmas books!!!!

5 Star Reads

Same as above, and I also awarded Body of Evidence 5 stars as well, but man was it scary!

BBC Big Read Challenge

Drum roll please.....I've only read a 23 read out of the 100 books picked back in 2003. I'm halfway through another BBC Big Read, but it is a slow burner to say the least.

To Be Read

20 books on my To Be Read pile. I had a wee bit of a cull of my To Be Read pile and feel a lot happier now. There will be an Autumn To Be Read post coming soon.

Looking Forward To

I don't want to discount August but I am looking forward to Autumn, but we have plenty of things happening in August and I can't wait! We have our annual village hog roast on the green, watching some more Triathlon. August has a bank holiday for us in the UK, and I am looking forward to that long weekend!
